Net Installation Instructions
This installation is typical of many of our sports netting installations around the country. The photo shows the use of 7/8”mesh, black nylon sports netting. Six-foot high netting is installed above a chain link fence on a multi-use sports field.
To stabilize the netting between vertical support posts, 8 Gauge Nylon MonofilamentWire is used in the middle and top of the net. Nylon monofilament wire is ideal in this situation because it is very smooth and will not chafe the Netting. The top of the net is further reinforced against harsh weather conditions by using 1/8” Galvanized Aircraft Cable. U-bolts are installed on both of the end vertical support posts to allow attachment of the monofilament wire. The 1/8” Aircraft Cable is attached to the end vertical support posts with Gripples. Slack can be removed with an in-line Wire Tensioner. Five Zinc Carabiner Clips hold the Nylon Monofilament and the top of the netting to the Aircraft Cable and are uniformly spaced between posts 30 feet apart.
All netting is attached to wire and fence components by using UV stabilized nylon ties. It is recommended that cable ties are spaced uniformly every 1’ at all junctures of netting and connecting items. Cable ties attach netting to the vertical support posts and attach netting to monofilament lines.
